PROEX FOOD Husker Overview

At ProEx Food, we know corn. Our team brings decades of combined experience building, installing, and maintaining huskers for sweet corn and seed corn operations around the world. Several of our engineers were involved in the original design and evolution of some of the industry’s most trusted huskers. That experience led to the development of our next-generation ProEx Husker: a high-performing solution designed to meet today’s quality, throughput, and budget needs.

The ProEx Husker is available in configurations for:

Fresh Sweet Corn (Tray-Packed))
Processed Sweet Corn (Vacuum-Packed, Cut Kernels, Frozen Cobs)

Each model is available in three tiers (Enduro, Select, and Elite) to support your operation’s capacity, hygiene, and budget requirements. All units are engineered to deliver reliable performance with less maintenance and easier service access.

We offer a range of roll bed configurations tailored to your product: high-profile, low-profile, maxi rolls, bladed and non-bladed, silk cutters, discharge rolls, and more. Whether you’re processing fresh, frozen, or dry seed corn, we can configure the optimal setup.

Designed for Operational Needs

Our huskers are built-to-order to match your throughput and processing requirements. Features and materials vary by tier and application, including:

Simplified cover access
Lubrication system options (manual or auto)
Motorized clamshell opening (Elite models)
Air and water integrations (as applicable)

For example, fresh sweet corn benefits from air and water integration for optimal husking and silk removal, while seed corn requires dry handling and zero water contact.

New: Infeed Shaker System

To enhance throughput and reduce re-cycling, we’ve also developed a new, optional Infeed Shaker designed to pair with our huskers. This complementary unit evenly distributes incoming cobs across the roll bed, optimizing performance and increasing capacity across all configurations.

Beyond Corn: De-Stemming Capabilities

While corn is our specialty, the PROEX HUSKER can be adapted for bulk de-stemming and de-leafing in other fresh produce lines. We’ve configured systems for products like:

Potatoes and sweet potatoes
Apples and citrus fruits

These configurations are ideal for high-throughput, fresh bulk handling operations.
